Mark Keathley

Mark Keathley

Mark Keathley grew up on the family farm in East Texas and has been chasing the "light" since he was six years old.   He says it doesn't matter what subject he paints because he is inspired more by the unique way light falls across his varied subjects.   In his travels across the country, his eyes are always on the lookout for a new "look" that he hasn't seen or captured with paint before, and carries his camera with him at all times.   His disciplined work ethic put him in front of his easel for 50+ hours a week, but he says it is not "work" but rather play.  His passion for painting is surpassed only by his love of life and family and he is always involved in deep conversation with those around him. Considered one of the few "locals" at the Briscoe Museum (from Victoria, TX),  Mark is a rising star in the art world and has over 70 published images at hundreds of galleries across the US and has recently been called "America's Artist" because his subject matter is so appealing to such a wide variety of folks.

Native Texan and local favorite, Mark Keathley, won the popular vote award at Night of Artists 2013, and is returning with a new lineup of paintings he describes as "an emotional experience."   His desire as an artist is to transport you to a place where you can "feel" what he wants you to with bold strokes, beautiful color, and drama - all merging  together to delight your senses and reach into your heart.
