Shawn Cameron

Shawn Cameron

Shawn’s studio is located near her home in central Arizona where they raise and pasture horses and cattle. Her ranching heritage is continuing into the sixth generation as Shawn and Dean’s children carry on the tradition through their own cattle operations. On these family locations she gathers material that’s later used as a visual reference for her oil paintings.  Because she is at home with cowboys and livestock, she has the ability to portray them with accuracy.

Shawn's work has been featured in a number of art and equine publications, and as cover art for Western Horseman, American Cowboy and Western Art Collector.

Shawn has participated in numerous exhibitions. They include the Prix de West and Small Works Great Wonders at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Great American Miniatures at Settlers West Gallery, Tucson, Arizona; and Night of Artists at The Briscoe Western Art Museum, San Antonio, Texas. She was honored in 2008 as the Co-Featured Artist at the C. M. Russell Auction and Exhibitors’ Show in Great Falls, Montana. Shawn has participated since 2006 in Cowgirl Up! Art from the Other Half of the West at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg, Arizona where, in 2007, she received the “Artists’ Choice Award” and, in 2015 the "Governor's Choice Award."  She is represented by Trailside Gallery in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Cimarron Sky Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina.
