Through our diverse and extraordinary collections, exhibitions, and educational programming, the Briscoe Western Art Museum has become one of the great storytellers of the American West. In the last year, we faced many adversities that challenged us to reflect the same determination and drive of the cowboy, cowgirl, vaquero, and Native American through courage and grit.
By expanding our reach to new audiences through online education initiatives and digital tours, we were able to tell the stories of the West far and wide. We collaborated with other local nonprofits to provide interactive learning kits for children beyond our doors and meet our mission in new ways. This year, the Briscoe Educational Outreach team delivered over 1,910 Saddle Packs to children across San Antonio and hosted 1,743 virtual tours.
Within the tapestry of the American West, few images invoke the spirit of the cowboy as much as the great cattle drives. Join the drive to keep the West alive so that future generations understand that when the going gets tough, you saddle up and keep riding. Together we ride when you JOIN THE DRIVE!
We rely on the gifts of our community, those who hold a love of the West deep in their heart, to uphold the museum’s mission. When we ride together, we can care for the collections, present dynamic exhibitions, and provide unique educational programming that keeps the West alive.
