Join the Briscoe Book Club for discussion in an academic and social gathering as we explore great works of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction inspired by the vast and varied experiences of the American West. We will announce a new book each quarter, which will be the topic of discussion each month for that quarter. Books are available for purchase at the Museum Store or you can reserve copies for check out through the San Antonio Public Library system prior to each meeting.
The Briscoe Book Club is facilitated by Paivi Hoikkala, PhD (Department of History, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona). Dr. Hoikkala has a history of working in higher education with subjects focused in Native American, Women’s, American, and Western History.
Each meeting will be held in the Clingman Education Gallery at 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. Briscoe Book Club is FREE to attend.
