Trails Plowed Under by Charlie Russell

Get ready for our latest exhibit Sons of Charlie Russel: Cowboy Artists of America by reading a collection of short stories covering a range of western themes including Native American life, cowboys, saloons, outlaws and more focusing on a time when the open range was rapidly being fenced. Commemorating frontier life in the closing decades of the nineteenth century, Russell proves himself as a storyteller.

Join the Briscoe Book Club for a discussion in a social gathering as we explore great works of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction inspired by the vast
and varied experiences of the American West. We will discuss a new book each quarter. Books are available for purchase at the Museum Store or
you can reserve copies for check out through the San Antonio Public Library system prior to each meeting.
