Active from 1930 to 1986, border radio is the cultural phenomenon of high-powered American radio stations on Mexican soil. Blasting their programming northward, they exerted a peculiar, mesmerizing influence on American culture. The stations also introduced American culture to Mexicans and Mexican culture to Americans.
