legacy lunch The Briscoe Western Art Museum has named Debbie Montford as the recipient of the inaugural Dolph & Janey Briscoe Legacy Award.  This award serves as a special tribute to an individual who has demonstrated the philanthropic spirit of the late Texas Governor and his wife through altruistic contributions and support of the Briscoe and all of South Texas. Debbie Montford
2017 Briscoe Legacy Award Winner

For over 30 years, Debbie Montford has dedicated her philanthropic expertise and generous support to nonprofits all across Texas. Through her exceptional leadership and tenacious efforts as chairman of the board for the Briscoe Western Art Museum, Debbie was a key player in the grand opening of the museum in 2013. She is currently an advisory board member of the Briscoe, board secretary of Humanities Texas, and an advisory director of the Plum Foundation. 

Debbie has served on numerous boards and has received many notable awards including the Champion of the Arts Award presented by Texas Monthly in association with Texas Women for the Arts. With a personal approach to fundraising and a deep passion for the arts, education, and the health of our community, Debbie and her husband, John T. Montford, are often dubbed "the dynamic duo," with a goal to raise $1 billion dollars for charity in their lifetimes.
