Join the Briscoe Western Art Museum and acclaimed local Chef Adán Medrano for a singular museum experience in conjunction with our newest exhibition Destino San Antonio. In commemoration of San Antonio’s 300 year celebration, the Briscoe will host Chef Medrano for a special presentation of “Truly Texas Mexican: History and Flavor Profile of Texas Native Cooking.” Chef Medrano, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America will demonstrate recipes from his recent cookbook designed to highlight dishes that utilize native ingredients with a gourmet twist, including the San Antonio classic, chili con carne.  The event will cover the culinary history of the area and will be followed by a tasting of the dishes described in the Chef's presentation.

“Truly Texas Mexican” will take place at the Briscoe Western Art Museum on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 2:00pm-4:00pm in the Jack Guenther Pavilion.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Chef Medrano and purchase a signed copy of his cookbook.  Tickets are available for purchase here at $20 for museum members or $30 for non-members. Spaces are limited and advanced registration is recommended.  For more information contact Ryan Badger at rbadger@briscoemuseum.org, or call the Education Department at 210-299-4499. This is an event that no local foodie will want to miss!
