Shawn’s was a world apart. From a young age she absorbed life around her filled with talk of cattle, weather, the smell of horse sweat and leather, the sound of hooves before dawn, the weariness of long days…and sense of purpose. Problems presented were solved and lessons learned. So… it had been for generations and remains still. With no memory of beginning she continues to record and preserve ranch life as it unfolds, through paint and canvas. God gave her a gift of observation to capture the beauty of fleeting moments that are re-lived by the viewer. They provide a window into a world she reveres and values. Her subjects are real and their story is true.
Shawn’s been a professional artist for nearly three decades. Her paintings have won numerous awards and she’s participated in major exhibitions and museum shows but the primary goal remains to improve the quality of work and share a life experienced by few.
Her works has been shown in the Prix de West and Small Works Great Wonders in OK City, OK; Cowgirl Up in Wickenburg, AZ; Settlers West Great American Miniatures and Mountain Oyster Club Show in Tucson, AZ; C.M Russell Auction in Great Falls, MT; and Masterworks of the West in Calgary, Canada.
Trailside Gallery in Jackson Hole, WY and McLarry Fine Art in Santa Fe, NM display her work. She and her husband, Dean, reside in central Arizona where she maintains a studio near their home.
